body language is a photobook documentation of a series of interviews about body image, gender fluidity, and trans identity. Conducted in an intimate setting on the artists' bed, each interviewee was asked a series of questions to prompt them to discuss their relationship with their own body and how they view others. The interviews touch on a variety of topics, from social media's impact on those figuring out their gender expression to clothing shopping on T.
The design of many of the pages maintain the anonymity of each interviewee (with a reveal of their face at the end), while bearing their personal thoughts and feelings through quotes. Having a glimpse into another person's perspective on their body prompts the viewer to think about and reevaluate their own.
This project spanned over 3.5 months and was largely created during the course Unlimited Edition Artists Books in the Spring Semester of 2023 at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, taught by Chantal Zakari. body language is 9x7 inches, contains 104 pages, and is hardcover. It is priced at $55 per copy
